"COME WALK WITH ME, THAT I MAY CARRY THE WEIGHT OF YOUR BURDENS" In our history my relatives walked the "Trail Were They Cried", known today as the Trail of Tears. There were many hardships and deaths on this travel from the Cherokee homelands to Oklahoma. As we all need hope in life, the Cherokee people needed it even more during this time. With the Great Spirits’ arm reaching down from the sky it is a sign He is there always to help us with our burdens. I painted the people on the journey in silhouette for the journey which has past. I used black to represent the terrible event which took place. The white light in front of them represents the light at the end of the tunnel. It is a new beginning or new horizons. The stars above are our relatives who were on the Trail of Tears. I have placed a blanket of green over the whole picture for a spiritual feeling and it also represents new life. The Life Of All People as we travel forward with the help of the Father to carry our burdens. Documentation
