Kokopelli's sacred prayers, what is good for everybody; such as health, happiness, harmony, good harvest, more game, increased strength, or good judgment in make a decision.
Kokopelli, or humped back flute player is connected to our Mother which I show by use of one of Mother Earth's colors. But, he is also part of Father sky and I show this by the sky color in his kilt. The black bars painted in the kilt represents the ceremonial smoke required in times of prayer and our spirituality. Find the hand print above Kokopelli's head. This is to represent universal harmony, or continual balanced living among all things on earth and between earth itself and the elements. The wash of the rock wall becoming white is the zenith, moisture, purity, the Father. Nature herself, assisted by Kokopelli as priest, becomes the messenger for the prayers of the people.
Myth or truth, what is his full purpose in our world? We may never recover all of his purpose of the past time or in our present time. This is why I have painted him as though he is coming alive off the wall of time past.
Kokopelli is known for warning humans to recognize that they are only part of the ecosystem. We need to realize that the harmony granted to us is controlled by our beliefs and values, the capacity to seek peace within oneself and to coexist side by side with one another, with the animals and plant life, and with the universe and its elements.
Art holds a mirror to life as variations within images to imitate the infinite variability among humans which allows for diversity within the fabric of our lives.
